That was the stupidest thing ever.

Do I still have to turn in my Herbology essay?

I'm pretty sure this has to be a prank gone wrong. Like those footprints or you know, everything that's happened this past year except for Br so maybe we should do something. Instead of sit around. I can give proper dancing lessons, I noticed some of you needed them on Saturday.

For whoever keeps losing their valentines, I've been taking the liberty of recycling them for you. They don't have any names on them though so I don't feel bad. I kept one for myself to send to Eleanor

Nora Bobbin-Malloy is this some kind of joke on names what color will you be dressed in?

I think dances are a ridiculous waste of time.

First, attacking anyone on the basis of prejudice is an arrogant pretension and cowardice. I will preface this entry with the fact that I only know what I've heard and feel free to tell me if I have some of the facts wrong and you may take issue with the arguments but the opinions are my own.

Second, This is an extreme form of peer abuse, where one party feels the need to control the power over another because of a perceived loss of that power. Perhaps they might be scared of the victim in some way - they pose a threat to their sense of self or something else - or they are acting out in a way to prove to others they are stronger than they might appear in the face of this person, usually weaker or smaller in some way. You can see it in political movements and within countries, especially our own. Generally it takes a form of extreme nationalism (i.e. judging one's country to be far superior than the others), but you can see it more specifically in the recent incident.

We have school rules to counteract peer abuse certainly, but this is an especially egregious circumstance due to the bias and foregoing conclusion that this was because of someone's lycanthropy. I may be wrong to assume that werewolf prejudice was behind the reasoning for the peer abuse simply because it was a werewolf involved, but in this instance I believe it can be interpreted as such. Whatever the reason, peer abuse is unacceptable in any form and much more so when there is discrimination and prejudice that is readily identifiable.

Lastly, everyone has the right to uninterrupted and equal educational opportunities. I do not know the reasoning behind the Board of Governors and Ministry for allowing her back in school - perhaps this is my own core beliefs warring with my initial judgments, but I am not comfortable yet in these decisions. Perhaps I would be more uncomfortable with being in the same house as she, but I am not someone to treat another badly because of my own personal insecurities. I must simply deal with it on my own and with the counselor and my parents - whatever the reasoning the Board of Governors had, it is not for us students to question to the point of peer abuse. If you disagree with their decisions, you have every right to see them through to the end of procedures put in place for questioning decisions, but there is no right given to anyone to take your anger and prejudice on another student.

I still do not know what to think of Muggles at Hogwarts programme. I think it is a good step, but I think the Minister was poor in his allotment of who should get to attend. I was not thinking that it would be close siblings of current and recently former students. I do not like this favoritism.

I applaud the Minister's pro-active measures. I for one enjoy muggles and think this is going to be a very interesting year.
